Spotlight on: King West

High-end restaurants, night clubs, retail shops and boutique grocery stores are the norm in this quickly growing, and high sought after, pocket of Toronto's downtown core. The old adage of 'having everything at your finger tips', while cliche, could not be more appropriate.

While houses are a rarity, (and most come with a barrage of heritage and historical restrict-ions) a huge variety of condominiums are available to suit the broad range of owners and tenants in the neighbourhood. A mass exodus in the mid 90's of manufacturing brought about the King-Spadina plan. Aimed at bringing investment into the area, this plan has seen an influx of hard and soft lofts, hotel-condo hybrids with rooftop pools and underground lounges.

While there is never a dull moment in the streets and many alleyways of King West, September brings about the pièce de résistance; the annual Toronto International Film Festival. TIFF welcomes the familiar faces of Hollywood and around the world to showcase the latest blockbusters and highlight foreign and underground talents.
